Carbon and minerals

Biochar-mineral blends.
Formulated as one system.

Biochar and natural zeolite have different structures and properties. Combining them can create a practical formulation route, but the ratio and grade should follow the application rather than a generic recipe.

Routes to evaluate

Potential applications.

  • Soil and growing-media products
  • Tree and landscape formulations
  • Professional turf
  • Bedding and absorbent products
  • Bespoke environmental media

Specification controls

What must be defined.

  • Carbon and mineral identity
  • Mass or volumetric ratio
  • Particle compatibility
  • Moisture and segregation
  • Mixing repeatability
  • Finished-product testing
01

A blend must remain consistent

Materials with different density and particle size can segregate during mixing, transport or application. PCS considers the complete route from component specification to how the customer handles the finished product.

02

Define why each component is present

Every material should have a stated function and testable reason for inclusion. Adding more ingredients does not automatically produce a better product.

03

Validate the finished formulation

Data on an individual carbon or mineral does not prove the behaviour of a blend. The final product should be assessed for handling, safety and application-specific performance.

Clear answers.
No invented claims.

PCS separates what the material is designed to do from what has been demonstrated in the actual application.

Can PCS blend biochar with clinoptilolite or chabazite?+

Yes, subject to the selected sources, intended use, specification and an appropriate development and testing route.

Is there one best biochar-to-zeolite ratio?+

No. Ratio should be chosen around function, density, handling, application rate, cost and trial evidence.

Can the blend be graded for machinery?+

PCS can develop a particle specification around suitable blending or application equipment, subject to practical validation.
